Group Manager for Life Actuarial

We are now looking for a new managerial colleague for Life Actuarial. The Life Actuarial department works with actuarial tasks within life insurance, and we are about 40 employees and three managers in the department.

This is what you will do as a group manager at Folksam

As a group manager, you will lead, plan, and follow up on the work to ensure efficiency and quality. You do this through close and coaching leadership.

You are responsible for a team of actuaries within life insurance. You ensure high quality in deliveries and collaborate closely with business areas and other functions. As a link between strategy and operational work, you drive the development of working methods and the business, challenge structures, and lead change with a focus on simplicity, efficiency, and value creation.

You have personnel responsibility, which means responsibility for the work environment, competence supply, and recruitment. As a member of the department's management team, you, together with employees and managerial colleagues, are responsible for developing the business in line with our strategy. You promote collaboration and innovation and create conditions for active employee participation that contributes to results, development, and a good work environment.

Are you the one we are looking for?

You are a secure, clear, and coaching leader who enjoys leading through change. You have a good ability to build relationships and create engagement, and you see the value in developing both individuals and teams.

We are looking for someone with a business-driven mindset, good collaboration skills, and a desire to simplify and improve.

As a person, you are action-oriented and approach your work in a strategic and structured way. You lead employees who are specialists, and your task as a manager is to lead, develop, and create conditions for the section's tasks and operations. You are stable and secure and communicate clearly to create an environment where we listen to each other.

To succeed and thrive as a group manager within Life Actuarial, we see that you also have:

• a relevant university degree in, for example, mathematics, mathematical statistics, engineering with a focus on financial mathematics, or equivalent experience in the field
• experience working as a manager with personnel and work environment responsibility or other leadership experience where you have had responsibility for work management, planning, follow-up, and development
• experience in actuarial calculations, pricing, customer analysis, or other relevant analysis assignments within life insurance.
• understanding of and knowledge in insurance, including relevant regulations
• interest in and curiosity about how new technology can support and drive development and new working methods.
